Find your kit here:

What you’ll need:

  • scissors
  • good internet connection
  • If you don't wish to purchase the kit, you'll need all above listed items.  The pattern and booklet will be emailed to you. You should print and transfer the pattern onto your monks cloth before the workshop.

The workshop will focus on technique. It’s a two hour workshop we won’t be able to finish your piece during that time. What we will do is to get you past the awkward hurdle of learning something new. By the end of class you’ll feel confident punching as we will:

  • Introduce to the punch needle
  • it's origins and various designs over the decades
  • introduction to the Oxford Punch Needle, it’s different sizes and models
  • discuss material compatibility
  • threading the needle

Practice how to:

  • punch consistently and with proper tension to ensure best results in your design
  • stop & start yarns
  • punch, unpunch and repunch
  • change directions
  • fill in large areas

Towards the end of class we’ll discuss:

  • taking off the frame
  • finishing options
