All Points North Yarn Co.All Points North Yarn Co is small-batch, quality yarn, crafted with colour, love, and possibly a smidge of swear words! Started in 2019, APN filled a need for locally-dyed yarns in our small town of 100 Mile House, BC, and allowed me to express myself and grow my creativity with colour. |

Baa-Realis FibreI’ve been a knitter for as long as I can remember. I’m a wife, a mom of four, a nurse, a dyer… I wear many hats (the best ones being hand knit toques of course!) I live outside the city, right in the middle of both farmland and forest. I draw my colour inspiration from the beauty around me, both around my home, and around this province full of immense mountain beauty and endless prairie beauty. Digging my hands deep in fibre and colour is a slow deep breath for me, both calming and prayerful. I love slowing down to experience the tactile delight of fibre arts, and helping others to do the same. The shop name comes from my love of the Northern Lights, the Aurora Borealis, which my kids and I frequently watch from our back yard. |

Blue Moon Fibre StudioBlue Moon Studio is now a subsidiary of Fibre2Fabric. Fibre2Fabric is a family company bringing all sorts of fibre related products to market. Cyndi has been sewing and knitting for more years than she can remember. Coming from a long line of seamstresses and knitters cemented her fate for having a love of all fibre arts. Sharing her love with her two daughters has culminated in a team effort to share their love with the world. Megan first began her knitting journey at only ten years old. She took a small hiatus and picked it back up again in about 2014. Since then she has become shawl obsessed, and gone down the rabbit hole of many other fibre arts including crochet, spinning, weaving, and needlework. Also, she is totally of the belief that collecting yarn and using it are completely separate hobbies. Alicia has been an artist since she could use her hands. She’s dabbled with many mediums over the years but has decided fibre art is her happy place. She mainly fills her time with spinning yarn or making an array of creatures and clothing with needle felting, crocheting, and sewing. We follow in our founder’s footsteps (the lovely Andrea Revoy) by searching out high quality and unique fibres needed by fibre artists for the texture and lustre desired for beautiful hand spun yarns and felted projects. Quality workmanship, attention to detail and a sense of humour are all values that we share. We can supply your habit. |

Chaotic NightsEverything is hand made. I barely follow patterns as I modify them to fit yarn, new color pattern, theme, technique or how can I end up with this result. I do not repeat, even if two items look alike I can explain how they are different. My motto is "Don't ask why? Ask why not?" and I follow through. |

Comfy Cozy KnitsWhen I am working with yarn, I feel comforted and at ease. This starts when I am preparing the yarn to be worked with, all the way through to when I am finished processing the yarn and working with it in a project. My inspiration comes from family, things that I see in nature, and experiences or images that bring me joy. |

Crafty BonesI have such a love for all things fibre related. I have made it my goal to show others the beauty that is our industry. Creating gorgeous patterns that people want to make, having high end soles for slippers or bases for handmade bags. Using a crochet chart to show off how intricate and gorgeous crochet can be and allowing people to show them off on my merch. |

Fireweed Fibre Co.When I first discovered hand dyed yarn I found a lot of neutrals, pastels and muted colours. I had a hard time finding the bold, bright colours I wanted to knit with. I bought some bare yarn and a dyeing starter kit and I fell in love with dyeing. I love dyeing bold colours and fierce speckles on yarn and fibre. |

HerLeather Co.I love, love, love to create and make things. I've always loved natural materials such as linen, wool and leather, but anything made in leather always takes my breath away and I always have to feel and check it out. I tend to recycle, repurpose and mend before buying new. I have a mix of re-purpurposed and new leather and turn these simple pieces into unique and beautiful items. I’ve always wanted to learn to knit and this past Christmas I had the opportunity to take some classes. I’ve made a few things and am excited to make more. Knowing more about knitting and what items are used has helped me understand what features I need to include in my bags. |

Imagine YarnMy final product is hand dyed long curly locks that people use to add texture to weavings, spinning yarn, felting, doll hair or wall hangings. The process to get there is what I love. I build relationships with the sheep farmers, pick the fleeces with the most curls and pull every lock by hand. Then they get washed and hand dyed to create beautiful long curly colored locks for artists to add to their creations. I have started using Indigo Dye and its just amazing, an art form that takes years to master....each vat is different and I learn something new each time. Enjoy the colors of my work. |

Jolanta FashionsJolanta Warpechowska-Gruca creates one-of-a-kind wearable items using natural materials. This includes clothing, accessories, and jewellery. Jolanta was born in Poland and moved to Canada in 1991 to complete her studies. While a computer technology educator by profession, she has always been experimenting with quality fibres and other natural materials. After many years of creating things for herself and friends, she launched Jolanta Fashions in 2009. Jolanta’s knitted wearables are her original designs, hand knitted and sewn by the artist. She draws inspiration for her vivid combination of colours and textures both from nature and human cultures. In her creations, Jolanta prefers natural materials like cotton, wool, and silk. She also embraces rayon, a man-made fibre created from plant cellulose, which contributes to beautiful drape and feel of the fabric. These materials create clothing that is breathable and imposes less impact on the environment. In addition to expressing her love of colours and texture, Jolanta pays attention to creating things that look flattering on various human body shapes. She strongly believes that clothing and accessories are meant to express a person’s uniqueness, and that everyone deserves to look their best and feel comfortable. She also believes in solid workmanship, and her creations are impeccably finished and durable. Jolanta used to show regularly at Calyx in Calgary and has been selling through selected galleries and stores in Alberta, BC, Ontario, and Quebec. A line of Jolanta Fashions jewellery was presented at the Couture Fashion Week in New York in February 2013. |

Koigu Wool Designsoigu Wool Designs has a history as bold and unique as the yarns and colors they produce. The name Koigu was chosen to honor the ancestral home of Maie's late husband, Harry, which is located in their native Estonia. The farm that now serves as the Koigu headquarters was purchased by Maie and Harry Landra in 1972. It was to be their weekend home located a few hours outside of Toronto, a much needed escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Ten years later, however, Maie moved her family to the country permanently to follow her destiny as an artist and purveyor of fine wools. |

Little House of MacrameI've been drawn to creating with my hands from early childhood. Having explored many different mediums, I have found that hand weaving and macrame provides a wonderful balance of structure and freedom. The ˜canvas" begins as long strings hanging from the driftwood or dowel and blank warp ends threaded on my loom, while the design builds knot by knot and line by line in a slow reveal until the piece is finished. It's not until I've knot the last knot or cut the woven piece free from the loom that I see the work in its entirety and it takes on a life of its own. |

Neatnik YarnsNeatnik Yarns are hand dyed yarns that are anything but ordinary! Always one to search out the elusive bright, variegated colourways, when Angela (the human behind Neatnik Yarns) started dyeing her own yarns in 2018 it made perfect sense for her to gravitate towards the biggest, boldest and baddest yarns she could find!
Since then, Angela has been on a fantastical fibre adventure. Already at home knitting and crocheting, her spinning wheel arrived right as the pandemic hit in March of 2020, giving her time to play and hone her skills creating art yarn. By the fall of 2020 she was selling hand dyed fibre for spinning and creating Wooly Wall Hangings as a way to channel her love for her colourful and chunky art yarn. In December 2020 she bought her first rigid heddle loom. And that was it. Now she has three. Since discovering weaving, Angela has expanded her yarn bases to include cotton and non-superwash bases, with the goal of making all the things with her yarns! Whether you are a knittier, crocheter, weaver, tapestry maker or hand knitter, she’s got a yarn for you! |

Twilight StitchesTwilight Stitches grew out of the opportunity to slow life down and try a new art form. I grew up interested in art and different art forms but found a true passion in fiber arts these past couple of years. I began my embroidery journey by making kits and patterns from other artists. This quickly evolved into me designing and creating my own pieces of art. Most of the time I can't keep up with all the ideas in my head and I hope to be able to create everything I envision one day! I draw my inspiration from things that interest me but lately have found that to be different tattoo artists and designs. If it's something I would want to hang in my apartment or have on my body then I want to stitch it :) And I hope to inspire others to create in a similar way by providing kits and patterns for them to try! |
