Intro to Lace Making with Cynthia Dorrough
Does the idea of lace intrigue you? Are charts prohibiting you from being the fabulous maker and tackling many new designs on the market?
Have no fear, in Introduction to Lace, we will dive into chart reading and learn what the symbols mean, and you will leave with tips and tricks to help you to work simple lace charts and help you build confidence in attempting to knit more complex lace designs.
In the class, you will learn how to knit a flat lace swatch with tips on knitting lace in the round. There will also be a brief demonstration on how to block lace designs.
- Approximately 20 g of fingering weight yarn, (stash yarn is acceptable),
- US Size 4 (3.5mm) needle. A 16” or 24” circular needle is acceptable or long straight knitting needles or dpns are acceptable. The goal is for at least 40 stitches to be able to rest on the needle comfortably.
- Embroidery floss or dental floss
