Dyeing Made Easy with Leanne Sept

Class description

Join me to experiment with colors! Tricolor dyeing in a crockpot is so simple, even I can do it!! You will learn that creating colors doesn’t have to be difficult and the results will be amazing, no experience necessary.

For this project you can choose 2 skeins of alpaca yarn and a minimum of 2 Colors of Landscape Dye.

Materials needed

  • You will need a crockpot, new or used, (keep in mind that it cannot be used for food after. But hey, creating color is far more exciting than cooking!!)
  • an old spoon (I like to use a hard plastic one, because wooden ones tend to stick to the yarn)
  • rubber gloves, and an apron or old top that could use some extra color
  • white vinegar
  • 2 skeins of alpaca yarn
  • 2 colors of Landscape Dye

Or buy the kit

You will need to have your yarn prepared. It needs to be tied for dyeing (if you are unsure how to do this I can send you instructions) and soaked in warm water with a bit of dish soap for a minimum of 30 minutes.
